Expected Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, participants will:
- Understand the art toy creation process from design to production
- Gain proficiency in 3D modelling with Nomad Sculpt
- Produce a unique, display-ready art toy
Course Outline
Lesson 1: Introduction to Art Toys (3 Hours)
- Explore art toy styles and design workflow
- Practice: Create a concept and a turnaround design sheet
Lesson 2: Fundamental 3D Modelling (3 Hours)
- Learn Nomad Sculpt’s interface and core functions
- Understand key principles such as proportions, symmetry and dimensions
- Practice: Model your initial art toy design
Lesson 3: Advanced 3D Modelling Techniques (3 Hours)
- Master advanced sculpting techniques
- Refine your design with textures and details
- Practice: Finalize and prepare your art toy model for 3D printing
Lesson 4: Introduction to 3D Printing (3 Hours)
- Create your own digital model for an art toy
- Learn about different types of 3D printing and post-processing methods
- Practice: Complete a 3D-printed art toy model
Lesson 5: Post-Processing (3 Hours)
- Learn surface treatment and polishing techniques
- Practice: Process and refine your model
Lesson 6: Finishing and Colouring (3 Hours)
- Apply painting techniques, colour palettes, and effects
- Add final details such as weathering, gloss, and matte effects to enhance realism
- Practice: Bring your art toy to life with professional finishes
