Swiss Accessory and Watch Design by HEAD - Genève
A showcase of over 100 pieces of designs by students of Geneva School of Art and Design (HEAD – Genève) demonstrates the latest innovations in jewellery, watch and accessory designs. The Switzerland-based school of a long-standing of providing prominent design education has nurtured some of the best designers in the world. The exhibition at HKDI marks the partnership between two institutions.

In Praise of Silk: Fashion from China National Silk Museum Across Time
HKDI Gallery Presents a tribute to the fibre that has been a renowned Chinese heritage: the mulberry silk. A glimpse into the evolution of the Chinese fashion and silk culture is offered by an exhibition by HKDI's Department of Fashion and Image Design (FID) in collaboration with the China National Silk Museum, the largest silk museum in the world. The journey features the museum’s collection ranging from contemporary fashion to ancient Chinese silkwork designs, completed with weaving loom and animation installations, photographs, and more.

Homo Ex Data – The Natural of the Artificial
As robots, drones, and virtual reality enter our smart homes, technology has gradually built within us a second nature, an artificial one. But how natural can an artificial, technologised world be? To answer such a philosophical question, HKDI Gallery will showcase over 150 pieces of Red Dot Award-winning technology products in this exhibition that demonstrates how well-designed technology has become a “new, second nature” to modern human beings and shed light on how we could use better design to develop smarter technology.

Centre of Innovative Material and Technology (CIMT)
CIMT is established as a comprehensive material archive and interactive learning platform to facilitate the exchange of material knowledge and associated applications amongst students, faculty, designers and manufacturers. Its collection ranges from the latest innovative, cross-industry materials from global suppliers, various manufacturing processes and inspired end products.
