HKDI Image Show "The Revolutionary Image of the New Generation" kicks off a series of design shows during the Emerging Design Talents 2019. It features a series of wearable artworks and revolutionary make-up styling, hair styling, fashion styling and stage costume with stunning effects designed by the students from Fashion Image design.  Spicing up the professional catwalk show, a new scene of image design for fashion, film and performing arts is also demonstrated by creative and dazzling performances.

"Starnight Screening" by HKDI Digital Media

New Fashion Force

The “New Fashion Force” is one of the highlights of the Emerging Design Talents 2019, featuring 30 best fashion and accessories collections selected from more than 200 fashion design graduates of different specialisms (Knitwear, Accessories and Textiles) in a professional catwalk show. It aims to nourish young new talents and serves as a platform for our graduates to showcase their creative talent to the industry.

HKDI x BCU Landscape Architecture Annual Show 2019

Known as a “Concrete Jungle”, the dull impression of some public spaces in Hong Kong is difficult for people to feel a sense of belonging to the community. Landscape Architecture students started from the existing site conditions to bring in variety to public open space, to achieve community interaction and sustainable development. This year’s annual show is an exhibition to showcase a full spectrum of the student design works, which turns a new page in the landscape education and design scene of Hong Kong.

VIP mobile theatre

The mobile theatre will invite 200 creative directors to experience this “Mobile screening: Promotion Truck” in CBD including Quarry Bay, TaiKoo, and Kwun Tong where Advertising Agencies are mainly located. An online advertising campaign will be launched to give viewers a full experience on this mobile truck.

Cannot Not Communicate: HKDI Communication Design 2019

Birmingham City University BA (Hons) Fine Art Graduation Show - Slash

Slash is a new term to define the multifaceted millennials, it proposes the unique positions and possibilities they have within society. This exhibition shows how this Slash generation takes part in the changing epoch. Each artist implies their own views and experiences into their art pieces, as an individual with different roles at the same time in society, this Slash generation reflects their perspectives and communicate with their concerns. Here they respond to their study, career, future, their roles with peers and family.

BA (Hons) Design for Exhibition and Museums - Graduation Show 2019

This is an annual graduation exhibition of graduates for bachelor degree programs in design for exhibitions and museums. It is mainly designed to showcase the achievements of various students after years of study in design, and to showcase exhibitions, events and museums projects. The various design schemes, among which the graduated works will show the design thinking, 3D color rendering, and spatial design model of each student. The exhibition venue is the museum to archive all the student works.

Fashion Branding and Buying: Fashion Solutions pop-up store

HD in Fashion Branding and Buying, of the Department of Fashion & Image Design will organise an education exhibition and interactive education workshops in the shopping mall, PopCorn from 22 to 26 Jun 2019.  With the theme of “Fashion Solutions”, the whole event will include an exhibition of graduates’ newly developed fashion brands in 4 Pop-up stores, an opening ceremony with a mini catwalk and showcase of industrial collaborative projects with interactive workshop and VR experience. The event will bring together the media, fashion practitioners, industry partners and the public to witness the creativity and emerging talents of our students.

[FORM/SHIFT] HKDI x UOL Architecture Design Graduation Exhibition

FORM presents existence. Form can stay, form can melt. Form can repel, form can merge. Form can SHIFT. Shift leads to a new form and eventually a new existence. The blend of the old and the new results in imagination and innovation, but not settlement. Settled minds and preconceived frameworks will be re-stimulated by [FORM / SHIFT].

HKDI’s Higher Diploma in Architectural Design commenced in Autumn 2012, followed by the commencement of the collaborative top up degree programme in BA (Hon) Architecture offered by the University of Lincoln (UOL) in 2014. [FORM / SHIFT] is an exhibition to showcase a full spectrum of the student design works, which turns a new page in the architectural education and design scene of Hong Kong. [FORM / SHIFT] will be a platform for the general public to meet a group of imaginative, creative and passionate emerging architects.
