Students will be awarded with the Professional Diploma in Graphic Communication (300 hours) upon successful completion of the 4 courses below:
1. Professional Certificate in Brand Promotion (90 hours)
2. Professional Certificate in Information and Interface Design (90 hours)
3. Professional Certificate in Typography Design and Application (90 hours)
4. Certificate in Advanced Typography: Publications (30 hours)
Entry Requirements
Basic Qualification
(a)
- Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English and Chinese Languages, or equivalent; or
- Five HKCEE subjects at Grade E / Level 2 or above, including English and Chinese Languages, or equivalent; or
- Completion of a QF Level 3 programme that is deemed acceptable to the respective Programme Board; or
- Relevant RPL qualification(s) at QF Level 3 or above or
- Other relevant verifiable prior learning and/or work experience that is/are deemed appropriate by respective Programme Board;
(b) Applicants are required to have at least 1 year relevant working experience.
(c) Basic knowledge of graphic communication is preferred.
(d) An interview and/or portfolio review may also be required on need basis.
Mature Applicants
Mature applicants, i.e. those aged 21 or above with at least two years’ relevant working experience, can be admitted. Where appropriate, the applicant may be required to pass an entrance assessment, which can be in an oral and/or written form.

Programme Objectives
The programme objectives of Professional Diploma in Graphic Communication are to:
1) provide students with profession specific design knowledge and skills in graphic communication for further career development in the creative industry;
2) equip learners with analytical thinking, problem solving, information interpretation, visualization and concept communication abilities with a user-centered approach; and
3) equip learners with graphic communication design competencies at a professional standard meeting the requirements of the industry.
Programme Intended Learning Outcomes
On completion of the PD in Graphic Communication, learners are expected to be able to:
(a) apply research and analysis, conceptualization, visualization, decision-making, presentation and production skills in graphic communication design projects in response to a design problem;
(b) apply knowledge and skills in graphic communication, branding promotion, typography, information and interface design for managing the process and delivery of design projects; and
(c) propose graphic communication solutions to meet client requirements and user criteria ranging from print media to digital platforms.
