Recently, our fashion design students from the Department of Fashion and Image Design, Hong Kong Design Institute participated in the 飲水思源, 共創明Teen 夢想成真 children's fashion design competition, jointly organized by the Yau Tsim Mong District Office and the London China Association. This event not only aimed to express gratitude for the 60 years of Dongjiang River water supply to Hong Kong but also celebrated the value of Hong Kong's cultural diversity and youth creativity. The competition was successfully held on 18 October at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza in Tsim Sha Tsui. Students from various institutions designed costumes based on the themes of "Integration of Multicultural Ethnicities and Chinese Culture" and "Water," which were showcased by young models from diverse ethnic backgrounds. The creative fashion show, combined with captivating performances, highlighted the unique charm of cultural integration in Hong Kong. We are proud to announce that our students from the Hong Kong Design Institute’s fashion design programme achieved outstanding results in the competition, winning the Champion, First Runner-up, and Second Runner-up awards. The award-winning designs will be exhibited at the Chinese Arts & Crafts Gallery, providing the winners with more opportunities to showcase their talents while further promoting social inclusion and development.
