Master Lecture Series – Environmental and Social Concern of Fashion & Textile Industry

Speaker: Jens Soth, Swiss Agricultural Scientist and Environmental Engineer

Jens SOTH, an agricultural scientist and environmental engineer, worked for more than 10 years at the EPEA environmental research institute in Hamburg, Germany, where he helped to improve products oriented at the cradle to cradle design approach. Mr. SOTH has joined the Organic and Fair Trade Centre at the Swiss Association for International Cooperation Helvetas, in order to work on the cradle to cradle conformity in agricultural commodities. He has years of experience with the implementation of organic farming in the tropics and subtropics and has conducted various life-cycle assessments of products based on agricultural raw material.

In this lecture, Mr SOTH will introduce the concept of “cradle to cradle” production cycle and explain the environmental and social impacts of producing and using natural fibres. An inspiring and visionary lecture for you to re-think why and how to co-create our sustainable future!
