Muses Foundation supports two HKDI students for an exchange programme at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen, Denmark
The Muses Foundation for Culture and Education sponsored two HKDI students for an exchange programme at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark. The students selected for this exchange programme are Cheng Wing Chun, student of Architectural Design and Wong Tsz Wai, Year 2 student in Product Design. They spent the first half of 2014 studying at the Academy.
The Royal Academy was founded in 1754 with outstanding alumni include Henning Larsen, designer of the Copenhagen Opera House and Verner Panton, a product designer known for his iconic Panton Chair.
Collaboration between HKDI and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts started in 2013, when a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the two institutions in August, 2013.
The scholarship offered by Muses Foundation provided a valuable learning experience for both Wing Chun and Tsz Wai. They both agreed that financial support and the opportunity to join an exchange programme at a world-class academy abroad have allowed them to widen their horizons, enhance their design skills and encouraged them to acquire knowledge beyond their areas of studies.
The Muses Foundation will continue to sponsor HKDI students of Product and Interior Design to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in the coming year. The Foundation plans to offer continuous support for future creative talents in HKDI, so that more students will have the opportunity to participate in overseas exchange programmes.
